Plants vs Zombies 2 first arrived to iOS back in August, causing a tad bit of controversy along the way. Now it’s Android’s turn to get in on the zombie action! While folks in Australia and New Zealand have had access to the game since the beginning of October, the game has finally rolled out to Android users across the rest of the globe.
Plants vs Zombies 2 is one of the most highly anticipated games in mobile history, so was it worth the wait? So far it looks like the answer is yes. While the core gameplay and story is pretty much the same, PvZ 2 isn’t without a few changes. For starters, Crazy Dave and his plants are now fighting zombies throughout different time periods, from Ancient Egypt to the pirate seas and beyond. There’s also several brand new plants and a bunch of new zombies to battle.
Additionally, PvZ 2 has unlockable side missions and can even connect to Google Play Games where you can compete with your friends via leaderboards and unlock special achievements.
Another major change in PvZ 2 is that the game is no longer a premium title, and is instead free to play, which might be a turn off for some folks. As a free-to-play that means there are a ton of in-app purchases and extra content, though the game is still very enjoyable even if you wish to avoid in-app purchases.
To get your hands on the game, you’ll want to head on over to Google Play now. For those of you that have already downloaded Plants vs Zombies 2, what do you think so far? Does it live up to the first title in your opinion, or not?
