The Chinese site Digi.163.com has released photos of Skytone’s Alpha 680 netbook sporting Android. The whole thing doesn’t look that bad and it even seems as though the manufacturers heeded my advice and added a touch-screen element to the 7inch display, *cough*. Unfortunately the specifications are really nothing to write home about, but what would you expect for $250? Aside from Android and that 7 inch 800 x 480 pixel touch-screen, the Alpha 680 offers a 32bit 533MHz ARM11 CPU with up to 256MB of RAM. Similarly, you can pimp it up from 1GB to 4GB of SSD internal storage if you so desire. Rounding things off are WiFi, Ethernet, GPRS, CDMA, EDGE, UMTS, 2 USB ports, an SD card slot, and video support for MPEG1/2/4, H.263, H.264, and WM9.
Ok, so even if the videos have been showing the Alpha 680 with touchscreen capabilities for weeks, and even though the hot-red paint job isn’t appealing to everyone, Skytone could have done a lot worse. Pictures after the jump from digi.163.com
