New Motorola DROID lock screen

Well, I just finished manually updating my Motorola DROID to the new Android 2.0.1 firmware update, and I shot some photos of the process and the minor changes I’ve seen on the device so far.

I honestly *just* got done doing the update, so I have no real opinions on anything now other than I like the new lock screen much better.

Verizon claims that the update will fix the DROID’s autofocus issue with its camera, which is currently working anyway due to the current date, and also says that it should clear up some reception issues.  I know some people have complained about echo on the DROID, but I only ever heard it once and don’t know if that will be addressed in this update.

Check for the photos after the jump.

I updated and now the facebook sync for contacts is all screwed up. Anywhere from 2-4 facebook profiles per contact. Are you seeing the same result?

I’m not a Facebook user, but I’ll try to take a look at it.

Thanks for the pictures. I just finished updating mine, and dislike the new lock screen. The old rotary-style one was a much more natural swoosh of the thumb. Compared to autofocus, it’s not a big deal, though.

Yeah, I have to agree. I like the look of the new one, and like that it creates a smaller smudge on the screen, but you are right – the old one was easier to do.

Yeah, I had several friends who would not take my phone calls if I was on my Droid. I called one of them today after the update and after the 10 minute call I said, “Does my phone sound ok?”. He said, “Yeah, perfect, just never call me on that Droid and we’ll be OK.” I hated to burst his bubble, but I did.

    Now he wants one. :)

I still have echos and lost calls on a brand new Droid with the new update. Not sure if it is a signal issue. I had an LG Dare and had good reception everwhere. My girlfriend hates it when I call her. This is with the new Update still suchs. I love the media portion of my “Phone”.

Like Mike said, FB app is showing 2 FB profiles for every one of my FB contacts…don’t know why & can’t delete one or the other.
