The Pebble watch has been one of the most hyped and publicized Kickstarter projects in recent memory, but all has not been well since the project was fully funded.
Originally slated to ship in September, Pebble Technology let us know in July that they would not be able to meet that estimate. Then, in December, they let us know of another round of delays which would not allow them to ship in time for the holidays. As of now, all 85,000 “pebblers” are still waiting for their next generation watches.
However, now there seems to be a ray of sunshine emerging behind this cloud of uncertainty; the smartwatch has just passed through FCC's approval process. While there has not been another statement or indication from the company concerning the status of the watch, this does bode well for everyone looking to get their hands on one (or is it the other way?).
With one more regulatory requirement out of the way, the moment when the Pebble e-ink smartwatch will see the light of day may be closer than we think.
