Paranoid Android updates Halo design to suit Android 4.4 KitKat needs

January 9, 2014

After releasing its first KitKat-based AOSPA4+ ROM on Christmas Eve, Paranoid Android is back with more Android 4.4-related stuff, as the team has updated its Halo design for Google’s latest mobile operating system.

The Paranoid Android team hinted on Google+ that a new experience will be followed by the new Android design – see image above – although it didn’t say what’s to be expected in its future ROM versions.

The new design makes Paranoid Android’s Halo “as beautiful as ever,” as the team felt it had to try something new, that’s “clean and minimalistic:”

Halo now matches the design line of Android 4.4 KitKat. The transparency, the design adapts itself to your applications, your desktop, your photos. It is just the way it’s supposed to be.

The team is teasing more updates for the future, without really saying anything yet at this time, so fans will have to wait a while longer to see more KitKat-related Paranoid Android news. Meanwhile, how do you like the new design?

Guys if i put Cyanogenmod 11 on my Xperia Z, it will be like stock Android rite ? (and Kitkat too ) (dont judge , never rooted etc. and still kinda new to this stuff :P ) and also is there updates?

      • Nicolas Torres

        yeah that sounds about right
they frequently update with nightly versions

      • Shark Bait

Well it will certainly look like stock. ( its not actually stock , but from your point of view it may as well be stock)

        • Brendon Brown

          Oh ok , thanks ! :P

      • Aditya Bhatt

Yes it will look like stock Android or even better as you can customize the UI. But you will lose your Sony apps like Camera,Walkman, etc.

        • Brendon Brown

Will i still have like my camera features etc. ? or will i now have CM features ? And they do add their own media files rite?

          • Azeem

No, you will lose your camera features.

    • MasterMuffin

Can’t wait, I hope they include the screen recording commit

    • Christian Koch

anybody tried it yet? I wonder how well this works with Nova…

      • Georges

It works with any launcher! It is not related to any launcher but to the ROM itself!

        • Christian Koch

well, of course it works… my question was if it works well together…

          • Humberto Hernandez

Once again, it has nothing to do with the launcher…

It’s like asking if your new car is going to work well with your house bathroom…

    • Jayfeather787

      Can’t wait for this.
