Acer Liquid Gallant Solo pops up online

The Liquid Gallant Solo phone has been spotted and, although it hasn’t been officially unveiled by Acer, it will most likely hit the market by mid-September. As you might suspect from its name, the new handheld is not very different from the Liquid Gallant Duo, with one noteworthy exception.

Acer Liquid Gallant Duo pre-order quietly listed by Expansys, then pulled

The Acer Liquid Gallant Duo is not exactly a head turner especially considering what other hot smartphones are available from mobile operators. Nevertheless, the Acer handset may be an interesting device for buyers looking for a budget-friendly dual SIM Android device. The good news is that the Gallant Duo has been quietly put up for pre-order by Expansys UK, although the retailer then removed the product from its lineup, which means it’s currently unavailable for purchase. The Gallant Duo was expected to hit stores at some point in August, and that may very well still be the case, although we…

Acer Liquid Metal S120 with Android 2.2 for AT&T

The Acer Liquid Metal S120 has seen the FCC and all is well. The device is rumored to offer a healthy yet conservative 3.6-inch 800 x 480 resolution touch-screen display. The device will run on a 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230-1 supporting GSM/EDGE 850/1900 and WCDMA Band II and V. This suggests that we will see it land with AT&T sometime in the near future. The whole thing is housed in a aluminum chassis and will pack 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and Android 2.2 Froyo. Apparently the UK shall see this device this month so North America should not be far behind….

Acer Liquid E Ferrari to run Android 2.1?

Acer are set to release an updated version of their Liquid handset, endorsed by Ferrari. It will run off a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and packs a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and geotagging features. Acer Liquid E Ferrari special edition is the most exclusive smartphone in the world, dedicated to those who refuse to settle for mere perfection and demand something extra from their technological devices: passion,…

Video: Acer Liquid Stream gets Official

After all the leakages we faced earlier in the week, Acer have officially unveiled the Acer Stream. As far as I am aware, this will be the companies first smartphone offering running Android 2.1 Eclair. Things have come a long way for Acer and the smartphone since this time last year. Indeed, as we suspected, the Stream will run on a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM. In terms of on-board storage, the Stream will pack a healthy 2GB but is expandable via the microSD card slot (presumably up to 32GB). The camera takes shots up to 5MP…

Acer Liquid available in UK at The Carphone Warehouse

About this time last year we attended an Acer press launch in London, UK, detailing the companies intent to break into the mobile phone market. Since then, things have been pretty slow moving, but consistent. We have been keeping up to date on the Acer smarphone situation and announced back Decemeber 2009 when the Acer Liquid went on sale for the first time with Expansys. Now we can confirm that the Acer A1 Liquid will be available to the UK market from the high-street retailer,  The Carphone Warehouse. “We are committed to offering the widest range of the best smartphones…

Video: Acer Liquid e hands-on at MWC

While we were covering the 2010 Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona last week, I had Russ Jefferies run over to the Acer booth to get some hands on time with the “new” Acer Liquid e.  I use quotes around new because this device is basically a regular Liquid that got an OS update and some new colors.  The video is below:
