Are Google and Microsoft conniving with each other to overtake Apple? Seems possible. Several researchers and data analysts are looking at the possibility and have even released speculation that Android will be #1 in 2015, followed by Microsoft. This was a recently concluded study by IHS iSuppli.

Now, there are new research reports done by analyst house Ovum. According to the study, Ovum believes that Android will be replacing iOS with regards to developers’ choice. In the coming months, Ovum foresees that developers will no longer favor iOS and instead, will focus more on Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone.

“A smartphone platform’s success is dictated not only by the pull of consumers and the push of handset vendors and mobile operators but also by a healthy economy of applications delivered by third-party developers,” said Adam Leach, author of the Ovum research. “Therefore, it is important for all players in the smartphone ecosystem to understand the choices developers are making today and the downstream impact of those choices.”

With this new study, the earlier study made by IHS will not be far from turning into a reality. Google is getting stronger and more powerful along the way!
