Ever since the success of the Samsung Galaxy S2 last year, many have been expecting when a new model will be released. With the number of press releases Samsung published about their growing sales figures, a sequel to the S2 was only the right thing to do. Despite the fact that Samsung still hasn’t made any official announcements on the Galaxy S3, many have speculated how the device will turn out to be. Especially with the company’s recent announcement of several new Exynos cores, it can be expected that they will be utilized to boost the new Galaxy S. There is also much reason to believe that the Galaxy SIII will be powered by a dual-core processor (at a minimum). But with the presence of a quad-core chipset, who knows, maybe Samsung will be using it for the S3.

Right now, we can only give you some speculations about the S3. We may be right with these but we won’t really know for sure until Samsung gives an official statement. But whatever it is, we’re definitely looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy S3!

Operating System

We have a huge feeling the S3 will be packed with the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, considering Samsung has already been the first to use it on the Galaxy Nexus.

Processor

With the recent news about the Samsung Exynos 4412 chipset, we can only hope that the S3 will be getting the quad-core 1.5GHz processor; especially since Android manufacturers are always trying to win over each other as to who has the most number of cores on their units. It just makes perfect sense to put it in the S3.

Well, if not, then we’re probably looking at Exynos 4212, a dual-core ARM9 chipset believed to be 30% faster and efficient than the S2. Or it could also be the Exynos 5250 2GHz processor which boasts of a 2560×1600 resolution.

Release Date

With the way things are going, we can only assume that we’ll be getting more information about the S3 during the Mobile World Congress event to be held in February. Then the phone will probably be sold by the end of March. Just like it did with the S2, Samsung released the phone in the UK in the beginning of April 2011. We might be looking at an anniversary release date too.

However, the S2 took a while to arrive in the US. Since the S2 is still fairly new to the US, the S3 launch in America won’t be happening until after several months too.

Again, the above are only mere speculations about the S3. We really don’t know what the new model looks like until Samsung reveals more information to us. But until then, we can keep on speculating. What do you think the other features of Samsung Galaxy S3 will be?
