LG has been making more than a few right moves over the past several quarters, despite not making records in terms of sales of their smartphones, either in the U.S. or globally. Today, LG brings us an official announcement:
[quote qtext=” The next flagship device from LG Electronics (LG) will be officially known as G2 and will be the first smartphone from LG to be launched as part of the company’s new “G” premium brand” qperson=”Dr. Jong-seok Park ” qsource=”LG ” qposition=”center”]
Where once we had the Nexus 4 and what it did for the acclaim of the Nexus franchise, we now have LG playing a close game of cat and mouse with its fraternal foe, incumbent Samsung of South Korea. Shortly thereafter, we saw the Optimus G, an excellent device in its own right, that, once again, didn’t make ‘huge’ waves.
Most recently LG impressed us with their beautiful Optimus G Pro, a device designed to preemptively attack Samsung’s Galaxy Note series before the launch of the Galaxy Note 3, something likely to happen at IFA Berlin, in early September.
Looking forward and with regards to the LG G2, we’ll be on the ground in New York on August 7th to give you an up close and personal look at the brand new LG G2, which should be a very impressive, Snapdragon 800 toting powerhouse of a device!
