Whatever you have planned for yourself, always have a Plan B. This is true in whatever situation but most especially when you might be putting your Android device in danger by flashing a ROM, a tweak, a hack, or a mod. That’s why custom recovery is a must-have for every Android junkie. With the help of a backup, you can save your phone from any potential harm.

Though the Optimus 3D isn’t a new phone, developers haven’t given up on it yet. In fact, Optimus 3D users will be pleased to hear that XDA Developers senior member Paki0402 has put together a custom recovery toolkit.

Packed with LG stock recovery, ClockworkMod Recovery, and ClockworkMod Touch Recovery, this toolkit makes sure that you can create a backup of your ROM, as well as perform several advanced recovery, restoration, and installation operations on your phone. Don’t worry, though the toolkit sounds powerful, it’s extremely simple to use. You won’t need to fiddle with any codes to get the custom recovery you want on your device.

If you’re looking to unroot your phone, you can install the LG stock recovery. If you love ClockworkMod Recovery but want to give your physical keys a much needed rest, go touch-based with the ClockworkMod Touch Recovery.

The toolkit has been dubbed the “XDA Edition,” so if you need extra help, the integrated links in the toolkit link to the XDA-Developers forum. Unfortunately, this tool works only on Windows computers, so Mac and Linux users will have to either install their custom recoveries the old-fashioned way or wait until Mac and Linux versions of the Optimus 3D Toolkit will be released.
