OnePlus giving away 2500 invites and a free device!

Welcomed with the warmest attention and excitement, the OnePlus One is also one of the most exclusive devices we have seen. This affordable gem comes with top-of-the-line specs, a stunning design and solid build quality. It’s a steal for just $300, but the invite system has fans growing more desperate by the day.

It may have taken a bit longer than expected, but OnePlus is finally ready to start shipping more substantial amounts of devices. The Chinese manufacturer has just launched their “Storm of Invites” campaign, in which 2500 invites will be given away, along with a free 64 GB Sandstone Black Edition OnePlus One for a lucky winner.

OnePlus One is using social networks to both advertise and give away invites. Social networking has been the manufacturer’s strongest tool so far, making such a move obvious. Users can enter to win in 5 ways, each counting for an individual entry.

How can I enter to win an invite or a new OnePlus One?

Go to OnePlus’ Storm of Invites website and perform one of the following options:

    • Like OnePlus’ Facebook page
    • Join the OnePlus Mailing List
    • Tweet about the Giveaway
    • Follow OnePlus on Instagram
    • Write a Message in OnePlus’ Forums

After taking care of business, you can simply wait until the contest is over and OnePlus has chosen the winners. We don’t know the exact details, but it seems winners will be chosen at random, including the smartphone winner. Demand is high, so make sure to get your entries in time.

Do keep in mind participants must be 18 years or older, and reside in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom or the United States. You are not allowed to win more than one invite (yet), so don’t try that either.

Those who don’t make it in can still buy a OnePlus One from OppoMart.com, but that has some significant caveats, including a higher price. It may very well be worth it, though. The device is quite stunning. You can read more about it in our full OnePlus One review. Check it out and go get your invites!

This company has been disappointing me. This is good way to make up for it. Give it to me.

        Definitely isn’t

      • AndroidBoss

You write anything just to advertise that link…?

        • http://www.geek-news.net/ GeekNewsNet

Would you prefer a different link with the same relevant info? I’d say anything coming out of China these days should be scrutinized. Not that those companies are the only ones that have seen malware on brand new out of the box devices, but it is a valid concern.

      • Jayfeather787

        no

“Welcomed with the warmest attention and excitement”
You should see how angry the people who reply to their G+ posts are…

    • Adon

really like the phone but i feel like i have to beg to buy it,not hot.

      • VersedNJ

Adon, I feel the same way. And I’m not going to beg for a phone.

    • Luka Mlinar

All this is based on their word which isn’t worth anything at this point. I was supposed to be one of the first ones to get it only to get a msg saying that my invitation is gonna be delayed because of logistics. This was like 2 weeks ago.
As if there weren’t enough delays on the surface, there are more behind the curtain. Good luck people :D

    • Victor_Creed

      Vaporware

    • Raghav Kapur

Why don’t these idiots just release it the way a phone is “normally” released. The interest in this device will be diluted if they delay the launch further

    • Sal

Nope that G3 is calling me and I will soon get ready to preorder the phone. One Plus had their chance but they took too long!

Have fun with the world’s dimmest screen :P

    • David Gabel

I did those sign ups to see if 1+ will live up to their claim of being able to deliver (to anyone). So far I’ve only seen review/tester devices being shown off with reviews, but no actual production unit.

      • Kash Gummaraju

Not even the reviewers have an actual consumer ready unit, they have those testing units

        • David Gabel

That’s what I mean though. I don’t consider reviews of test/review units to be real reviews (or real phones) hence why I’m on the side claiming that this phone is vaporware. I happily wait to be proven wrong by OnePlus when they begin shipping real units to real people.

          • Kash Gummaraju

That’ll be when the next nexus is rocking a snapdragon 805+ this fall with 3gb ram and the other latest tech.

    • Ryu

OnePlus has made horrible decisions as a company, and it seems to not affect them much as of yet, but I think it will affect them more as time goes on.

The device itself is amazing. Company, not so much.

    • AJ Aquino

You’re eligible if you reside in United Kingdom but not in Ireland? Ah, c’mon like…

    • Norman Zaczyk

I’m so close to invest 140€ more and just get the Find 7 with student discount. It’s preorderable, it has a SD slot, a removable battery and the rapid charging technology. I really wanted the OnePlus One but the Race contest just made me think about the whole thing all over again. If I win in this contest, I’ll probably take the Find7 nevertheless…

      • Marc Perrusquia

        Go for it.

        • Norman Zaczyk

I will get my student card tomorrow and Oppo also first has to confirm that I’ll get 10% off…

          • Marc Perrusquia

That sounds good I’m thinking of just getting the find 7 at this rate too.

      • David Gabel

The Find 7 and OnePlus One are pretty much the same thing physically. You’re better off with the Find7 as you will have a real phone and not vaporware, and Oppo phones seem to do OK.

    • Gary

      Bring it on.

    • Christian B.

At this point I wonder if OnePlus is paying writers for new articles to be published. Everyone can conclude by now that whole invite thing and availability is a joke and seeing new articles about it is quite irritating. Playing “lottery” for just a chance to *purchase a phone that is not even available is ridiculous. They will probably not sell more than 40% of all invites they end up giving out because all it is is a ability to buy.

      • Cuerex

even if there are people which end up with an invite they won but don’t need, there were some people on the forums which shared their key to unlock an invite because they had reasons by that time, not to buy the phone anymore. so other had the joy to do so

    • Jerry Rich

You’d have to be an idiot to buy one of these things. If they can’t even sell you one, how do you think their support is going to be. Too little too late for me, I’m moving on. G3 here I come.

    • killmore

Oneplus is a failure. Quit hyping them up AA.

      • Linh

It seems like 1+1 is paying AA for advertisement disguised as “news”. Awfully suspicious IMHO

        • Cuerex

it seems like that OnePlus generated enough hype that news portals write about it to earn money by users clicking on the news.. it works damn fine actually as you can see. they don’t need to invest in news marketing

    • Melad360

does anyone even really care anymore?

      • Vinnie Vegas

        Not me.

      • Adude

        Nope they blew it

    • Silver

      Meh! Too little too late

    • http://liveinalux.com/ mankulito

whatever, don’t care anymore, got a phone already

    • Vinnie Vegas

This ship has sailed, guys. Sorry.

    • Vinnie Vegas

If they’re still around next year and act more professionally, I will take a look at the oneplus two.

    • Gresom

I did not want to wait, nor beg. So i recently bought a brand new LG G2 32GB and immediately installed cyanogenmod on it. The G2 is around it’s lowest pricepoint right now, it’s a little smaller and has a gazillion reviews. So no surprises.

    • mumusen

Already bought a Note 3 and couldn’t be happier!

    • Tyrone_83

I just need something I really hate this POS Alcatel phone I have. My phone is messed up and nobody from Alcatel has the balls to reply back to me either on social media or on there own website for FAQ help.

    • Ανδρέας

More hoops to jump through? Whatever. No one cares anymore and no one will buy it. Not that they can even if they wanted to….
So enough with the 1+1 hype please…

    • pitbullblackandwhite

i think AA should stop writing articles about this phone… why advertise it if people can’t buy it… no use…

    • vincent

Lucky go have mine yesterday! Awesome phone 38342 on Antutu bench

    • vincent
    • Kareyoru Alafude

It’s just android phone. Need entreat oneplus to sell to us, look like as an idiot.

I got one of these invites.

    • Jerry Rich

Here’s an idea, why don’t they give away 2500 phones and one invite? If the 1+1 was free I might take one.
