OnePlus has come a long way since its early days and that’s visible in the infrastructure the company has put up to deal with customer service. Things are far from perfect, but OnePlus customers no longer have to worry about basic post-sales services and warranties.

In India, OnePlus is doubling down on customer services with the opening of its first service center. The company guarantees that it will solve customer issues in one-hour or less, a very bold promise by any standard.

The first of these “Exclusive Service Centers” (ESC) is now up and running in Bangalore. Five other Indian metropolises – New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai – will be served by the end of the next month. That’s the first phase of OnePlus’ Indian expansion – presumably, similar centers will be opened in other Indian cities.

OnePlus ESCs won’t be mere repair shops; they will act as showrooms where customers will be able to play with the latest OnePlus products. But the centers won’t function as stores – visitors will still be directed to OnePlus’ online presences to purchase devices. Thanks to this dual role, ESCs will be located in central locations like high-street retail areas and shopping malls. For customers who can’t make it to the service centers, OnePlus is arranging free pickup and delivery.

It’s a good time to announce the initiative: the OnePlus 3 is widely expected to launch worldwide in just a couple of weeks.
