Despite a seemingly believable render of a red colored OnePlus 3 appearing a few days ago, the company itself has confirmed it's not in the pipeline. Sorry.

Red OnePlus 3
You won’t be finding this RedOne on the floor…or anywhere else for that matter.

When it comes to the colorful cornucopia of smartphones, the standard staples have become black, white, gold, and now pink. Some OEMs however, prefer to place proper priority on the primaries and thus on occasion a red device or two hits the market. The foremost provider of rouge wrapped smartphones is likely to be HTC, which was recently reported to be expanding its crimson craze internationally. Yet just a few days ago, a report emerged that suggested OnePlus might be following suit with its OnePlus 3 and pending plans to offer a such a shade for its latest flagship.

Unfortunately, it seems that the red One – no, not that RedOne – is nothing more than a pipe dream. GSM Arena was the bearer of broken hearts when it posted the following earlier today:

Renders looked convincing enough and a brief listing on the OnePlus website also provided some extra credibility to the rumor. However, a company representative reached out to us today and officially confirmed that the listing in question was an error and that the handset will only be available in two colors – Graphite and Soft Gold. Bummer!

So it seems that yesterday’s rumor was sadly just that. Still, perhaps with all the attention and coverage OnePlus received yesterday in light of the story, maybe it will change its mind down the line and put forth a red OP3 after all! What do you think? Would you buy such a color, or are the graphite and gold variants enough as is? Leave a comment or two down below!
