OnePlus sells its products in a number of countries around the world but Australia has always been missing from the list. However, it looks like this will soon change as OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has announced on the company’s forum that the OnePlus 5 will be available Down Under later this month.

The flagship handset will go on sale through a soft launch program, which means that the flagship device will be sold in limited quantities at first, giving the company the chance to test its product and supply chain.

Pei also mentioned that the OnePlus team will then visit both Melbourne and Sydney in September to meet with fans and hear their suggestions on how the company could improve. Those of you interested can sign up for the fan event via the button below.

What we don’t know at this point is how much the OnePlus 5 will cost in Australia or how long the soft launch will last. We would assume that if the limited trial run turns out to be a success, it should be available to all Aussies soon after.
