Got plans to watch a movie this August? If you do, and you’ll be doing it in either the New York or San Francisco Bay Area, then you’ve got a chance to test out SHIELD, the new Android-based gaming console from NVIDIA. All you’ve got to do is go over to one of several SHIELD Movie Theater Experience Centers and you’ll get hands-on time with the NVIDIA SHIELD for free.

According to a post on the official NVIDIA blog, the SHIELD hands-on promo will run through the entire month of August. The SHIELD experience centers will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at a total of four different locations. These are, as mentioned above, going to be in New York and San Francisco.

Here are the locations for New York area testers:

  • Garden State 16 – 1 Garden State Plaza, Paramus, New Jersey
  • New Roc Stadium 18 – 33 Lecount Place, New Rochelle, New York

And for San Francisco Bay area testers:

  • Cupertino 16 – 10123 North Wolfe Road, Cupertino, California
  • Mercado 20 – 3111 Mission College Boulevard., Santa Clara, California

The NVIDIA SHIELD is certainly quite an interesting thing to look at. But it’s bound to be spell-binding in person. If you find the 2-week wait until August to be too long, check out this video demo of the device to tide yourself over.
