According to NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, the new wave of Android tablets is going to rock the world. Indeed, it’s true! Here’s more. Most recently, he told Reuters Technology Summit in New York last Monday that tablets using Google’s Android platform could overtake Apple Inc’s red-hot iPad within three years as improved versions and more applications hit the market. He added that these new versions of Android, most especially Honeycomb, will beat the iPad as developers make more games and other software to use on them.

Jen-Hsun Huang even said, “The Android phone took only two and a half years to achieve the momentum that we’re talking about. I would expect the same thing on Honeycomb tablets.”

The debut of NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processors was fruitful and NVIDIA has caught the attention of big time manufacturers such as Samsung and Motorola and become a major player in top tier devices.

But, because of the very tight competition from the iPad 2, other investors are in doubt if Android can really overtake Apple.

The iPhone set the standard for smartphones when it was launched in 2007 because of its touchscreen and on-demand applications. However, phones using Android, an operating system that Google hands out for free to manufacturers now outsell iPhones and are becoming more and more famous in China and other developing markets, Huang said.

He also believed that Nvidia’s next generation mobile processor, known as Kal-El, has already won spots in quite a lot of devices planned by major PC and phone manufacturers, including phones, tablets and low-powered laptops.

So what now? Do you have anything to say about Android? Yeah, Android really rocks!
