Now that “the first social streaming media player” has hit the market, you are going to need some accessories to go along with it. Surely, Google has already offered speakers and speaker cables as recommended accessories, but we found it necessary to get more details and outline some other options.

If you haven’t already read about the Nexus Q, take a look at our article here.

Triad Bookshelf Speakers ($399)

Never mind the steep price of almost $400, these USA-made speakers were created specifically for the Nexus Q. They will be the perfect match for your social streamer, at about 13 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 7.32 inches in depth.

Speaker Cables ($49)

Once again, Google has chosen to offer this accessory at a high price. But then again, you absolutely get what you pay for. More specifically, the cables are tailored to fit around the Nexus Q’s orb like shape.

Energy 5.1 Theatre System ($399)

Coming in at the same price as the Triad Bookshelf Speakers, this whole system by Energy offers over 300 Watts split between the six pieces. There is no guarantee that this set will work together with the Nexus Q as well as the Triad Speakers, but they do offer a nice alternative to the two piece set.

Belkin Banana Plugs ($15.99)

As for the $50 speaker cables, Newegg offers a cheap alternative by Belkin that should do the job just fine. Again, there is no guarantee that these cables will work as well as the Google recommended version. However, these cables are extremely similar and come in a pack of 4 (a perfect fit for the Nexus Q).
