The Nexus 9 is a fascinating creature to be sure: internally known by its codename “Volantis”, the device is a first in a few regards: it’s the first HTCtablet to be released in years, it’s the first (and only) Nexus tablet to be released in 2014, it was the first device launched with Lollipop, and it is the first Nexus device with a non-widescreen aspect ratio.

This latter point has, in particular, made it quite troublesome for those purchasers who have a penchant for productivity: the unique size and form factor means it’s a bit difficult to use existing keyboard cases with the powerful tablet.

Google HTCNexus 9 Android 5 Lollipop-5

Google had initially unveiled the Nexus 9 with an interesting Keyboard Folio, however it was more of a seen-and-not-heard type affair. Until now!

For the reasonable (expensive?) price of $129.00, you can get your hands on the Nexus 9 Keyboard Folio directly from the Google Play Store. The case attaches magnetically, has two different display positions, pairs wirelessly with Bluetooth 4.0/NFC, and of course, features a nice keyboard with a dedicated Google Search key, and 1.4mm key travel. The case is available exclusively in black leather, so those with the Lunar White model (or Sand, whenever that releases) will have to make due with the darker shade of protection. Google claims battery life of 5 months on a single charge, when used for 2 hours per day, depending on usage of course.

So do any Nexus 9 owners plan to purchase this product? Is it priced competitively? Too expensive?
