Nexus-7-docking-station

Seemingly a lifetime in the making, the official docking station for the Nexus 7 is inching ever closer to its release. We told you a few days back that the dock will be making its way to stores in two weeks, but it looks like those in the UK will get to purchase one sooner.

According to Know Your Mobile, Asus will start selling the elusive N7 dock in the UK on its online store this Friday, where it’ll come with a £24 price tag. The dock is expected to hit other outlets shortly thereafter.

The docking station only comes with a mini USB port — to charge the tablet — and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which means you can hook it up to external speakers to listen to some sweet music. Having the Nexus 7 sit on the dock is also a great way to enjoy the Daydream feature of Android 4.2, especially now that Flipboard is supported.

Hoping that the Nexus 10 dock has a bit more functionality. A video out port would be nice and perhaps a fully fledged USB port or two.

The Nexus 7 dock was on sale today on Asus’ UK shop website, and quickly sold out.
