Deal: Nexus 7 WiFi 16GB for $103 at Newegg, after rebate

August 20, 2014

Nexus 7 (2013)

(Update: Newegg increased the price by $30.)

The deals keep coming for the Nexus 7, last month it was $130, this week we see a refurbished 16GB Nexus 7 WiFi model for just $102.99 over at Newegg.

The deal is the perfect storm combination of sales, deals, offerings and discounts. This rock star Nexus 7 tablet runs for $229 regularly, the refurbished version is down to $169.99, Newegg is offering a $50.00 rebate card with purchase. Add to this a limited time promotion with VISA Checkout to get another 10% off by using the promo code VCO at checkout to get you down to just over $100, not bad at all.

VISA Checkout is the credit card company’s attempts to keep up with other online quick pay solutions like Google Wallet and PayPal. It appears the 10% discount is site wide, until August 25th, saving you a maximum of $20 off your purchases.

Nexus 7 has been a great device over the two generations of the device. Many first generation users are still very happy with their tablet, but don’t worry, Newegg’s deal is for the 2013 model of the Nexus 7. If you’ve not heard of this thing yet, it is a well equipped tablet with 7-inch 1920×1200 resolution display, Snapdragon S4 Pro processor at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, a fine selection of sensors and connections and 5MP rear camera all on top of the latest version of Android with guaranteed updates until Google says otherwise.

Check out our review of the Nexus 7 for more details on the device.

Love for Tablets has been dwindling of late, due primarily to the popularity of larger form factor smartphones all the way from the OnePlus One and LG G3 through to the soon to be announced Samsung Galaxy Note 4. However, the Nexus 7 has been finding new uses in our world, just this morning we discussed an initiative with Toyota that places the Nexus 7 into the dashboard of your next Toyota car.

At just over $100, the Nexus 7 is a steal of a tablet, if you are good with refurbished electronics, of course. This may be the perfect device and time to equip the student in your life for the upcoming school year, or just put a couple away as Christmas presents. Either way, head over to Newegg before August 25th to grab yours.

For those in our Android community that have not yet snagged a Nexus 7, is this the deal that you’ve been waiting for?

i’m confused, this link takes me to a sale for $199 with a $50 dollar rebate. even with visa check out this definitely does not bring it down to $100 total…

I’m not confused, I’m pissed. That’s false advertising. Either that or Newegg is taking advantage of it’s consumers.

      they corrected it…bummer.

Ah, that sucks, they jacked the price. I’ll update the article.

Take the story down, the price wasn’t even locked at time of your publication.

I used to be a big fan of NewEgg but in the last year or so there marketing and pricing has gotten shady. Thats what you should do a story on.
