Those who tried in vain to purchase the Nexus 4 the first time it went on sale, now have a second chance.

As announced by an email that Google sent out today, the Nexus 4 become available again from the US Play Store, a few minutes after 12PM PST (3PM EST). If you’re in love with the Nexus 4 (and why wouldn’t you be?), you can get the 8GB version here for just $299, while the 16GB model can be yours for $349 from here.

In case you are planning to buy several Nexus 4 (the holiday season is in full swing after all), prepare for a slight disappointment. Google has limited the number of units that one customer can purchase to two units, likely in an effort to discourage those who buy for reselling purposes.

After a couple of errors, it now appears that both versions of the Nexus 4 are again sold out. Note that this has happened the first time too, so don’t give up trying just yet.

For those that did manage to order their device, the projected waiting time is 4-5 weeks.

The 8GB version seems to be on and off in stock, so keep refreshing!

  • ffd

what about the rest of the world?

  • Romeo Smith

Keep refreshing. they still are for sale. The play store is just buggy with all the traffic.

  • Michael Lee

Why does this happen? I am seriously concerned this time. Shouldn’t they have gotten better servers this time around??

  • yeahitsme

That isn’t in stock, it never was today. Today was only a “pre-order sale” nothing more, you should really start to get your facts straight with the “news” you post and stop “reporting” so much garbage.

Play Store servers crashed once again. Had the 8gb in my cart from 1220-1230 and wasnt able to checkout. Now there sold out. Was the bumper ever up for sale?

  • Wude

Yeah, on the nexus 4 checker are listed as “IN STOCK!” though if you keep refreshing from time to time you may see an “Out of stock!” but looks like it is a server saturation

They are listing ALL of their devices as sold out to help the server I believe, there is no way all of them sold out, which is what every device says

  • priority9

what a joke. A company as large as google can’t get this online sales right?

  • Matthew

An alert appears now saying they are just having high traffic, but the phone is not sold out, basically it is still a giant pain in the ass to try and get…

  • netkil

“Google Play is currently experiencing very high traffic. Nexus 4 is not sold out and will still be available for purchase. Please try again shortly. Thank you for your patience.”

    • netkil

I like Google, but what happened to their preparation here….? They had to know that they would be getting hit hard expecially since they announced it themselves…What gives Google?

      • Matthew

Google is a software company, they are venturing into “general consumer” hardware for the first time, and obviously were not prepared, their hardware marketing is totally shit.

  • Matthew

Also, while I still cannot get the order through, my cart no longer is disappearing, I have not seen either model say “SOLD OUT” for a little bit, and the only error I get when trying to proceed is Due to High Demand, so their servers are doing better, but not great.

  • Matthew

Just got an order confirmation, no email confirm but hopefully it does not lie.

  • netkil

    Woohoo!!! Just got my confirmation!!!

  • Angus

Got through to the order page but they aren’t shipping anywhere except the states
