Project Cold Fusion is a super smooth ROM based on CyanogenMod. This guide shows you how to flash Project Cold Fusion ROM for the Nexus 4 E960.

Requirements

• LG Nexus 4 E960 with unlocked bootloader and ClockworkMod Recovery installed.
  • You can check out this toolkit that will easily unlock the bootloader and flash CWM recovery to your Nexus 4.
• Download the following to your computer:
  • Project Cold Fusion ROM (pcf_mako_003_12-20-2012.zip, md5sum: 697de0a9d5e185dcbee3c7fe0020aea9)
  • GApps Package (gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip, md5sum: c4a07a24e11448824b84e314600cd357)
• Make sure your phone's battery still has at least 70% power. You don't want the device to shut down in the middle of the procedure.
• Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data.

Instructions

1. Copy the Project Cold Fusion ROM and GApps package files to the phone's SD card.
2. Switch off your Nexus 4.
3. Boot into Recovery Mode. To do this, press and hold down the Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power buttons until Fastboot Mode boots. Using the Volume keys, highlight Recovery and tap the Power button to boot into ClockworkMod Recovery Mode.
   • Note: Use the Volume keys to navigate and the Power button to select an option if you're using a non-touch custom recovery.
4. Create a NANDroid backup. Select Backup and Restore > Backup.
5. Wipe your data by doing the following:
   • Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset > Yes.
   • Select Wipe Cache Partition > Yes.
   • Select Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache > Yes.
6. Select Install ZIP from SD Card > Choose ZIP form SD Card > select the Project Cold Fusion ROM > Yes.
7. Repeat step 6 to installthe GApps package.
8. Select Go Back > Reboot System Now.
9. Let your phone settle for a couple of minutes and reboot your phone.
