In case you want to be surprised on October 29 by Google’s announcements, then you can forget everything about that. Now that there aren’t any more things to leak about the LG Nexus 4, maybe the worst tech secret in history, the leaks are starring the next Nexus flagship tablet, the Nexus 10.

Earlier today we showed you pictures posted from the Nexus 10 on the web by Google’s Vic Gundotra but also benchmark results that confirmed the tablet is running Android 4.2 and that it will feature a 2560 x 1600 display a 1.7GHz dual-core Exynos 5 Dual CPU. And let’s not forget about yesterday’s leaked Nexus 10 training manual.

Now it’s time to look at leaked images that show us how the tablet looks like, but also at screenshots taken on the device.

A BriefMobile source to play with the Google Nexus 10, and the publication posted several pre-release details for the tablet, including specs and features but also hands-on images.

Before we invite you to check out the image gallery below, let’s take a look at the Google Nexus 10’s specs sheet:

    • 10.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and 298.9 pixels-per-inch
    • 1.7GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 5250 (Cortex-A15) CPU
    • Mali-T604 GPU
    • 2GB RAM
    • 16GB internal storage (other options possible)
    • No microSD support
    • 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash
    • Front-facing camera
    • NFC
    • WiFi
    • Bluetooth 4.0
    • Dual speakers located on front of device
    • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

The Google Nexus 10 has a back that “ feels like brushed aluminum, says [their] source. There are rubber coated edges and it’s extremely light and thin.”

    [nggallery id=39]

As for the Nexus 10’s OS, we’re looking at Android 4.2 Jelly Bean rather than Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie, not that we’re surprised to see that considering what most reports revealed so far.

BriefMobile reports that Android 4.2 is basically a “minor update to the existing Jelly Bean we know and love,” and says that it can confirm some new features including a new Gallery application, an improved camera application, camera and clock app icons redesigns, multi-user accounts and a new quick settings bar. In other words, the previous Android 4.2 reports seem to be confirmed one by one by this new extensive Google Nexus 10 preview.

With just a few days to go until Google kicks off its October 29 event we can’t but wonder if there will be any surprises left during the show.

I’ve been looking forward to this and really excited about it all. The spec looks fantastic but now I see photos, I have to ask…

      Why is it so ugly?

      • MasterMuffin

Because samsung didn’t bother to make a new design for it :(

        • YusufIslam

No you idiot that’s up to Google since it’s a nexus… it’s also to avoid a possible lawsuit…

          • MasterMuffin

And what gives you the right to call me an idiot? What did I do to make me an idiot? Think before you write retard comments, idiot.

            • YusufIslam

You wrote a stupid comment you IDIOT.

            • MasterMuffin

What are you, 10 or just retard? I’m not going to argue with you ’cause you obviously don’t have the intelligence for that, so I just suggest you to do as the user “Matt” said below. …

            • YusufIslam

I’m 22 just to make you happy. If your talking about intellect, well then don’t make such a stupid that’s all I said. You get worked up so easy, I don’t know on what base you would argue on. The fact that your WRONG or the fact you couldn’t take a little word I said against you and learn to correct your grammer. Talking about “intelligence” rofl

            • MasterMuffin

LMFAO, You sure don’t act like a 22 years old. ..Oh my grammer isn’t entirely correct? OMG I’m so sorry mister perfect -.- I’m finnish so my native language isn’t english so…. + tell me how many mistakes I made (retardness isn’t a word) and how your grammer was better than mine… really just fuck off, I can’t stand your retardness!

            • YusufIslam

You pose a question but then contractict it.
I’m Bangladeshi so my native language isn’t English also
Wow you’re really mature and you tell me I don’t act my age?! This is what you said grammer boy “what are you, 10 or just retard?”
I’m almost 90% sure that your younger than me and that your ego got stuck in your rear end and that’s what resorted you to swearing. So on the contrary of what you said, I do act my age.

            • MasterMuffin

              It was a rhetorical question -.- It seems that you don’t understand English so with the help of Google Translate I say this (sorry for my bad “Bangladeshi language”) : আপনি যাই হোক না কেন আপনি করতে চান, কিন্তু আপনি কি তাই মূঢ় যে আর আমি উত্তর না করা যেতে পারে. আমি সত্যিই শুধু আপনার ক্যাবলা প্রতিক্রিয়া স্ট্যান্ড করতে পারবেন না. বিদায়

            • YusufIslam

Lol Google translate makes it worse! I know it was a rhetorical question it’s just I can see how easy it is to irritate you. Oh BTW it’s “Bengali/Bangla Language not ‘Bangladeshi’ that refers to my ethnic background. Anyways later dude.

            • g0vt_h00ker

              You’re mature

          • Matt

lmao a little harsh my friend, maybe toning that down a bit would be a good idea – just a suggestion… it’s a google nexus device, but the nexus aspect to it doesn’t have too much to do with it’s shell, samsung is still the manufacturer… you may correct me if i’m wrong though (Y)

            • YusufIslam

Both gnex and lg nexus have the same shape. Showing Google has the right to hardware as well

      • Maury
      • T Huynh

that’s how I felt when looking at those pics too. it’s ugly

      • Crapple_Stink_Different

Guys… this is jut a dummy housing… u should know this when you look at the ugliness

    • Dylan Falk-Hutchings

To me it looks like that a very bad copy of the HTC Flyer tablet. I wont get too disappointed until the actual announcement. But so far not too impressed.

      • Southrncomfortjm

Actually looks like the Galaxy Note 10.1.

      • LOL

        ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME

      • MasterMuffin

Actually the design is the same as galaxy note 10.1. And it isn’t a HTC copy. …

    • L

i dont trust this at all ,it could never have 298.9 ppi never ever

      • Mark

Easy enough to calc – (2560^2+1600^2)^0.5(pythagoras to get diagonal pixel count)/10.1(divide by screen size) = 298.9 pixels.

    • Southrncomfortjm

Any word if the camera software actually improves image quality or is it just a new interface? Wonder if that’s the same 5MP shooter in the GNEX.
Also, the picture of the port on the bottom looks like it has cutouts for a keyboard dock. Let’s see it Google! Give us a keyboard dock like the Transformer series!

    • http://twitter.com/cheese cheese

      wow this looks.. ugly!

tbh ipad 3 for $379 + 1 year warranty is the better buy.

      • MasterMuffin

Just becasmuse it’s ugly, it doesn’t mean that it can’t kick some apple ass, better prosessor, screen, Os. ..

        • http://twitter.com/cheese cheese

no confirmation as to whether or not it’s a ‘better’ processor than the A6X chip coming to 4th gen iPad.

iOS ecosystem still by far has better tablet apps than android ecosystem. this is a fact.

          • MasterMuffin

Well yes, but benchmarks show that exynos is lightyears ahead, and though the ecosystem might be better in the “camp apple”, this is a nexus device so it will get many developers to make apps for it and who cares about ecosystem, it’s apple, I won’t buy it :) and stop trolling :P

    • http://twitter.com/Darkmyth_pt Darkmyth PT

not very beatiful not a usb full port not a sd card slot not much storage and when you hold it you muff the sound of the speakers… not really well thought… :(

      • Twisted247

Its a nexus device, they don’t use SD card slots on the Nexus line. This is known, if that is an option you must have there are other android tablets that offer it. Unlike the ipad series if it doesn’t have it tough shit there are no other choices. Not to mention the official sizes for storage are TBA, it could very well be coming in 16gb, 32gb, 64gb.

On a side note I am very pleased that Google teamed with Samsung and brought a 10″ Nexus tablet to the market with a kick ass display and resolution. Along with the latest and greatest OS. Not to mention the new Exynos 5 chip(A beast). This is exactly what I was waiting for to pair with my Gn2, NICE!!

Google and Samsung FTW ……. AGAIN!!!

    • Tatsuya

“With android, it’s not like with an ipad where you’re limited in storage.
Here you can just take your SD card, easily put it in the… err… slot, which is…. er….”

Keep up the good work Google. :(

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=217700105 Dan Sloan

Agreed – Amazing display, but not enough space to take advantage of it and load true HD conent. For those of us who can’t afford massive data plans where we live, microSD is a must.

    • Bob

Am I the only one very annoyed with the Nexus black bar wasting screen space at the bottom? They should have just merged it with the top one like the other tablets do.

    • NicholasMicallef

worst tech secret in history is the iPhone 5.

    • SuyashSrijan

Not sure if it looks ugly because it has tons of fingerprints on it and the quality of the snaps is crappy or because the tablet has design flaws.

    • Patrick Tudela

Looks like a note 10.1 with stock android

      • Nexus10IsBeautiful

its like a note 10.1 except better

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000165146107 Patrick Diaz Tudela

          Spec wise yes.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000165146107 Patrick Diaz Tudela

I wish they could have kept the design of the 7 and just enlarged it. Like a Nexus 7 on steroids if you will.

    • William

Why didn’t Nexus make a 10″ version of the Asus Nexus 7 model?

    • William

This really bugs the hell out of me. I dislike ipads, however trying to find a very good Android tablet with the ports I need, is very annoying.

      • Adam Koueider

For you my friend I recommend Windows 8/RT (gasp….)

    • Jared Persinger

Awesome I wonder will it Be $300?

    • TechGuy21

      :(

    • droidlover

It is interesting that the home button is centered and not at the left like other 10 inch android tablets. The Exynos 5 is a monster based on one of the benchmarks that I’ve seen… This does look like the note 10.1, which I think is a great tablet, except for the screen resolution.
So basically we should expect a note 10.1
      + better resolution

      + faster processor

      + Android 4.2

      - SD card
      - S-pen
      - Touchwiz

    • Matt

I am wondering, will this have a Pentile subpixel layout? :-S

    • http://www.facebook.com/MrJayViper Jayel Villamin

this seems backwards to the LG Nexus considering that phone has quad-core A15 while this has dual-core only. I would’ve thought a tablet version would require more processing power considering tablet games require more power plus this has a much larger resolution (hence more pixels to process).

And 16GB again? Google know from Nexus 7 experience that customers require more storage. What’s the point of releasing 16GB? :/

      • droidlover

The LG Nexus 4 has a quad-core Krait and not an A15. Who knows how the two will compare, but I would expect the A15 to outperform the Krait. Dual-core vs. quad-core, and processor speeds are not the only criteria for determining performance… the gpu plays a big factor. In this case the Exynos 5 on the nexus 10 is using a Mali-T604, which should perform better than the Adreno 320 on the S4 used in the nexus 4.

If you want an example of how dual-cores can perform better than quad-cores, compare Apple’s A5x or A6 (both dual-cores) to Tegra 3 (quad-core)…

When I first saw it, it reminded me of an AMC Pacer. :P
When people complain about something just having a bigger screen but no real improvement on interface, I think they’re right here. The desktop interface is the same for both the 4”, 7” and 10”. I kind of wish they retained the Honeycomb-esque launcher with the launcher buttons to the left and settings to the right. The specs though are fantastic.

    • Aleksandar Stefanović

I actually like design of Nexus 10. I think it really fits a big tablet.
