New Motorola CLIQ firmware coming, Android 2.1 still not included

OTA update for the CLIQ

It appears that a new update for the Motorola CLIQ, 1.3.18, is starting the process of being distributed to T-Mobile’s Motorola CLIQ users now.

The update promises further improvements to the phone’s battery life, better Bluetooth support, and better touchscreen accuracy – all things I’m personally in need of.  There’s also some corporate mail updates, a new rev of Quick Office, and bug fixes, too.

More info available at Motorola, with even more detail here.

When I get my hands on the update I will be sure to let you all know.

If you get it before me, though, please feel free to leave a note in the comments below letting the rest of us know what’s in store.

I haven’t noticed anything special. I feel a bit lied to because it says “The Latest Versions of Google Applications: Updated GMS application provides access to the latest versions of Google apps like Maps, Talk, YouTube, Market and more.” I still don’t have the new Google Maps with navigation!

This is getting annoying, but I do feel like the touchscreen is better and the accelerometer, too.

I have had the 1.3.18 update and honestly not much of a change at except they removed imeem app and added qo2 but we got that in decembers 1.1.31 update and no change in battery life gps is the same so over all no big change at all

What is qo2? I got the update last night, and I see that imeem is gone, but the SIM app is the only other app I see.

Why did I buy the CLIQ?! If only other phones had an equally amazing keyboard. Literally the best keyboard I have ever used. T_T
