New Custom Boot Animations Available for the Galaxy Nexus

January 6, 2012

It has been quite a few weeks now since the actual release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. And I do have to admit, I have had to search a bit in order to find some quality media, such as wallpapers and boot options fitted for the flagship device.

Well, now JaeKar99 at RootzWiki has solved a gapping hole. Thanks to him, we now have beautiful boot animations. You can find his released boot animations ready for download, here on the forum post.

I have to say that his graphics for the Android community is outstanding. So in case you forgot how to flash animations, here is an easy set of instructions:
1. Download the .zip file, on your phones storage.
2. Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery (Requires root, and installation of Clockwork Mod Recovery).
3. Find the file you downloaded, navigating with the volume buttons and selecting with the lock/ power button
4. Install .zip and after installation, simply reboot
I hope this clarifies some things, and also as you should know is that both root and unlocking the bootloader are needed, And the final process would be to install Clockwork Mod Recovery. Also, if you haven’t done this process yet, take advantage of our great posts teaching you step by step.

Looks like the Galaxy Nexus is getting customized for the new year.

Is there a way to turn off the boot up animation altogether. i.e. for a faster boot up?

Yup just remove the bootanimation.zip from system/media folder. Must have root. Also make sure to back that up somewhere. But with no animation the start up is boring and rather disconcerning.
