Last night Netflix introduced a new update to version 3.6 of its app on Google Play, with the most obvious changes being new UI enhancements that change up the look of the app.

What kind of UI changes? Basically the red action bar is now black, and the app’s icon has been changed to the newer white-background logo that’s been floating around for a bit. Neither of these changes seem that dramatic, but they do change the overall tone of the app and the new black bar certainly blends in better with the background. Aside from these UI changes, the official change-log only mentions “bug fixes”.

To grab the latest update you’ll want to head on over to Google Play.

I think that the next version of Android will have a lighter-colored theme. If that is true, this app update kind of goes against the looks of the Android L.

I just hope Google finds a way to make developers design apps according to the redesign of Android L. That’s one thing that Apple did well with iOS7 but to this day Android fails to do. Its really a free for all in the android app world right now design-wise.

I just hope these apps are configured to take advantage of higher resolution QHD displays like the LG G3, Note 4, Oppo Find 7 etc..
