The stage is set for the Motorola Droid Razr HD to make its grand entrance. At least, that’s our first thought when we saw the invitation that Motorola and Verizon have sent out for a special unveiling event, which is scheduled to take place in New York City on September 5.
As is usually the case, companies are very careful about spoiling the main dish of the event and don’t spill all the details on the invitation card — save for some cryptic hints here and there. For this particular event, Moto is focusing on the “Display” aspect of the upcoming device. The Motorola Droid Razr HD, of course, will be the first Razr in the U.S. to sport an HD display. See the connection?
Is this what we’ll see being introduced on September 5?
While the Motorola Droid series may not be the face of Android anymore, there’s a certain guarantee that any phone bearing the name will be met with glee from fans of the series. Plus, it’s still one of Verizon’s best-selling phones. It’s only fitting that it gets a glitzy launch party and not just a Facebook launch.
There’s always the possibility that it’ll be an entirely different Motorola device. We’d love to be proven wrong if it means seeing something that comes with pure Google device marking and Jelly Bean. Now THAT would be a surprise of a lifetime.
Care to guess what Motorola and Verizon will bring out come September 5? We just hope it’ll trump whatever Microsoft and Nokia are introducing on the same date.

Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR Micro (or Mini)
I’ve lost all trust and confidence in Motorola and Verizon for what they did to the Droid Bionic.
