Today Motorola officially unveiled its MOTODEV Android developer support program. The program will provide developers with early access to resources needed to create Android based applications for Motorola’s upcoming Android based handsets, which it has promised will arrive by the end of this year.
One of the tools Motorola is releasing is the MOTODEV Studio for Android Beta. The system can be downloaded now from the Motorola website. MOTODEV Studio supports Android 1.1 and 1.5 development and includes all the necessary tools, including emulators.
Motorola also announced that it will send a few developers of its choosing to its MOTODEV Summit 2009 in San Diego, which takes place on October 6. The summit is a one day training and networking event for developers.
Most importantly, perhaps, MOTODEV participants will have early access to tools, device specs, and even actual devices. Sign me up! You can learn more at the MOTODEV website.
