Motorola MILESTONE

Motorola MILESTONE

Motorola has launched a website that details all of the goodies found in the new GSM/UMTS version of the DROID that will be known as the MILESTONE.

From what I can gather, it appears to be basically the same device with new network support and some relatively minor software changes.  I gather from what the spec sheet says that this phone will not offer Google Maps Navigation, since MOTONAV is included on the phone.  It does supposedly support multitouch zoom control in the browser, though, so that’s certainly going to appeal to a lot of people.

BTW, I posted the Motorola DROID review on MobileBurn.com this morning.

You can read all about the MILESTONE at the Motorola website.

Didn’t Androids chief just say they aren’t focusing on hardware at this I/O?

“The Android Smartwatch is now in physical form”?

I’d hate to disappoint you, but the Sony SmartWatch runs Android (Gingerbread, if memory serves me correctly…), has LLOONNGG usage times AND can download applications/games from the Google Play Store (I believe there are around 300 compatible applications and games)… It was also released long before the smartwatch referred to above was even conceived.

The Sony Smartwatch is a dumb terminal. Everything displayed on the screen (with exception of the watchfaces) are images served from the smartphone.

…Nothing about this comment is true. No applications or games exist that run on the Smartwatch. It doesn’t even have a long usage time. The maximum battery life with max usage is only a few hours AT MOST.

An android powered smartwatch would be pretty massive in terms of development. Currently the Sony Smartwatch has an extremely limited API. Adversely, a smartwatch running Android would be open to almost any application imaginable.

You are also mistaken. Sony Smartwatch stores up to 255 widgets, most connects to the phone but some run independently on the watch.

You are very wrong about that. Seems you are just making assumptions based on pictures.

ahumm, Google! You can keep that toywatch for yourself! You have made a number of good products, but NOT ALL. Can’t believe all the hoopla around this stupid gadget. Let it go already AA!
Nate, don’t you have better, more educated issues to share with us?!!!

Looking forward for this. I hope it is ok. I wrote about it in German: http://www.smartwatch-infos.de/googles-smartwatch-prototyp-existiert-bereits/

But, do people even use watches anymore?

    • Alejandro González

Of course, they are useful, reliable, and they can look really elegant. They only have like one or two uses but they do it pretty well. I would rather take a look at my watch than take the smartphone out of my pocket and turn the screen on.

Why have a SmartWatch when you have a SmartPhone?
