Device manufacturers and network carriers have received a lot of flak for the slow rollout of the Android 4.0 update. For an OS that was announced almost a year back, it is quite sad to…
Motorola Razr XT910 owners, the time to enjoy that sweet Ice Cream Sandwich update has finally come. It seems Motorola is ready to roll out the Android 4.0 update for the GSM version of its Razr phone. Aside from reaching T-Mobile UK’s Motorola Razr, the Android 4.0 ICS update should also be heading to several European countries.
As posted on Motorola Europe’s Facebook page, the ICS upgrade is being rolled out to select users in UK and in Scandinavia this week. The post didn’t specify when the update will be hitting other countries in Europe, save for the standard “over the coming weeks” reply.
Owners of the phone in India and most Asian countries have been sporting Android 4.0 ICS for more than a month now. So we’re not sure what’s with the long hold-up on the update for other regions.
But if you’re in the UK and feel like blaming someone, something for the delayed ICS update, you may want to point your fingers at T-Mobile. According to GSM Arena, the UK carrier wasn’t too happy about Google blocking its move to customize the ROM (probably trying to add some carrier bloatware), which resulted in T-Mo refusing to approve the update in a timely manner. But hopefully that’s all water under the bridge now.
With that said – here’s hoping you’ll find some Ice Cream Sandwich surprise the next time you check your phone for the update.
