Motorola’s first WiMax-capable dual-core superphone, the Motorola PHOTON 4G, will be available for online purchase on Sprint starting July 28. The online sale will be exclusively available to Sprint’s Premier Customers before the handset becomes physically available on store shelves during the national launch on July 31.
The handset costs US$199.99 with a new two-year contract on Sprint or with an eligible upgrade.
The Motorola PHOTON 4G is one of this year’s most-anticipated superphones primarily because of its famed balance between productivity power and entertainment power. Apart from being a 4G/WiMax-enabled device, it is also hailed for its international GSM capabilities, which makes it a convenient superphone to use while on the roam around the world.
Powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, up to 48 GB of combined internal and expansion storage, and a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen, the Motorola PHOTON 4G has what it takes to make Web browsing, downloading, app running, multimedia experience, and communication not only smooth and convenient but also a big joyride.
Its 8-megapixel rear camera–capable of 720p HD video capture–makes snapping photos and capturing videos enjoyable and fun. Plus, with its capability for 1080p HD-quality video output via HDMI, viewing your multimedia on an HD device provides the much-desired pleasure of a hi-definition multimedia experience.
