Motorola G Hands On AA (13 of 17)

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Motorola has extended their deal of $70 off the unlocked Moto X until February 22. This makes the 16GB model a very affordable $329. If you’ve been on the fence about buying the Moto X, now may be the time to go for it. This even brings the price below that of the Nexus 5, whose Black, White and now Red offerings start at $349 for 16GB.

This is not the first time we’ve seen deals from Motorola on this phone, buyers have been enjoying $70 off since the end of January, and a lucky few got the Moto X during a few previous $100 off flash sales.

In light of the recent announcement of the sale of Motorola Mobility to Lenovo, it is great to see that the first major smartphone put out by Motorola under Google’s ownership is still alive and going strong. Designed to be a flagship device for Android, the Moto X is still a favorite for many after months of use and abuse. With Android 4.4.2 KitKat rolling out to Moto X and this new price point, many new users can afford to put it in their pockets as well. Motorola offers the ability to custom build your unit, but if that is not for you, we’ve seen some great cases for the Moto X. On the flip side, if there are not enough tweaks available for your tastes, CyanogenMod has recently launched nightly builds of their custom ROM as well.

For those that have been comparing the Moto X and the Nexus 5, now that you can get the Moto X for less than the Nexus 5, will you be pulling the trigger and buying one? Or has the uncertainty of the future of a Lenovo-owned Motorola made you decide on the Nexus 5?

I think you will not be disappointed Steve. I think I’ll be grabbing one of these myself, it is just a great phone at a great price, we’ll figure out what to do about the OS down the road if Lenovo tries to screw it up.

and this is more like a clearance than a Valentine sale.

I bet their gonna drop the price tag to $250-$300 and customization like the wooden back will be free haha.

lol, that would be quite sad for Motonovo. I hope that day comes soon though. I will give it a try at that price. xD
