Motorola sells Google’s Chromecast on its website

In an unexpected move, Motorola started selling Google’s Chromecast on its website for the same $35 price. But should it really be a surprise?

Motorola is a Google company after all, even though Google desperately tries to keep the two universes separate, at least when it comes to public statements. Therefore, since the Chromecast is an accessory best used together with smartphones and tablets (although it works with other devices as well), we shouldn’t be surprised to see it listed in the accessory section on Motorola’s U.S. website.

That’s right, the Chromecast is only available from Motorola in the USA at this time, which means international Motorola customers will still have to wait before purchasing their affordable Chromecast dongle.

Considering its price and capabilities, the device has been popular with the crowds, being sold out with various manufacturers after launch, so potential buyers will be happy to see Motorola also taking Chromecast orders.

As you can see at the Source link below, Motorola’s Chromecast landing page is simple enough, presenting the main features of the device to potential buyers – in case you haven’t gotten yours yet, check out our review here (and video playlist above)!

And Google treats Motorola as separate companies? HA.

It’s quite obvious that’s just an image front to the other OEMs to keep them out of the background collaborations between Moto and the Big G.

Why aren’t you making a big deal of them selling SOL Republic products on their page? Or any of the companies that make cases for their phones?

“…before purchasing their affordable Chromebcast dongle.”

Not surprising, I won’t be surprised if the next generation of Chromecast would be branded/made by Motorola either. The only way this won’t happen is if Google can have somebody else make it cheaper.
