It’s official, Motorola has now announced the already leaked Droid RAZR HD. The new flagship device comes with a 4.7-inch HD display and will be powered by Android 4.0 ICS.

For those that were hoping for Jelly Bean, Motorola says an update will arrive sometime this year — though no specific date is mentioned. To show that it’s definitely coming, the floorshow model ran Jelly Bean, not ICS.

Not surprising, the Droid RAZR HD will use a custom skin, similar to the one found on the Atrix HD.

Here’s the basic specs for the new Droid RAZR HD:

    • 67.9mm x 131.9mm x 8.4mm
    • 146g weight
    • 1.5GHz dual-core processor
    • 2530 mAh battery
    • Bluetooth 4.0
    • USB 2.0 HS, HDMI, 3.55mm jack
    • 8 MP back cam with LED flash, 1.3MP front cam
    • 1GB of RAM
    • 802.11a/b/g/n with mobile hotspot up to 8 connections
    • GPS
    • Preloaded apps include: Chrome, YouTube, Google Talk, Maps, QuickOffice, NFL Mobile, Modern Combat 3 Demo, Real Racing 2 Demo

According to Motorola, Google Chrome runs 40 percent faster than the iPhone 4S paired with Safari.

Official launch and pricing information for the Droid RAZR HD have yet to hit, though it’s expected before the holidays. The RAZR HD will also come in a higher-capacity Maxx variant and a special developer edition that allows easy unlocking of the bootloader.

Nothing really screams out at me over the OG Razr. Sure, there are marginal upgrades throughout the whole thing, but is it worth the upgrade? Im going to say no, but thats just me. (If I had unlimited income, I would replace my Razr with it just for the fact that the HD has no hardware keys)
