More Leaks Point to August 4 Release Date for Motorola DROID Bionic

The long wait for the Motorola DROID Bionic is almost nearing its end, as more evidence points to a release date slated for August 4. Earlier rumors pegged the release date to be some time in September, but that rumor has been dispelled somewhat with a leaked screenshot of an alleged Verizon internal memo showing not just the release dates of the Motorola DROID Bionic but also of the Motorola DROID 3.

The two most recent leaks lend more credence to the rumor for an August 4 release date. The folks at Droid Life received a screenshot of another alleged internal memo explicitly stating the exact date of release for the Motorola DROID Bionic, as well as instructions regarding displaying the models.

The memo instructs sellers to display the models from July 29 onwards, but not before July 29 even if the models arrive early. Stocks will start arriving in stores on August 1, says the memo, just a few days before the target August 4 launch.

Droid Life seems skeptical about the memo, chiefly because of one misspelling–”its” instead of “it’s.” Although misspellings are not waterproof indications of unreliability, they do water down the credibility a bit. So, we here at Android Authority encourage our readers to take rumors and leaks like these with a grain of salt. Although, like you, we also have been waiting for the coming of the resurrected Motorola DROID Bionic.

Meanwhile, Verizon seems to be making room for the DROID Bionic on store shelves. A member of DroidForums.net, who claims to be employed in a Verizon store, has posted late last week a photo of a display unit for three Motorola Android devices, two of which are named–the Motorola DROID X2 and the Motorola DROID 3. The middle cradle on the unit is only labeled “Coming Soon!” and seems to fit a 4.3-inch handset. That empty cradle could probably be for the Motorola DROID Bionic.

According to the forum member, actual devices for “Coming Soon” displays usually arrive within two weeks. Granting all these are true, this second piece of info corroborates the leaked internal memo about the release date of the DROID Bionic.

You’re tired of waiting for the DROID Bionic, aren’t you? You’re crossing your fingers and wishing that these new rumors are true, aren’t you? You’re just like us, aren’t you? :-)

Bionic and Photon does not belong here, they have been proven to be not as good as S2 by many reviews…

    • Asduhmass

Wrong, they definitely deserve to be right up there. The reviews on these phones are great. A review from your retarded girlfriend doesn’t count as a valid review!!

Too bad Ive seen more bad reviews for the SGII than I have for the Bionic! You’re waaaaaay off on that one. The Bionic is better!

I’ve got Cyanogenmod on my Sensation and it benches better than a GSII. I know that I would lose with the same OS on it, but I’m happy with what I have.
