Motorola is holding 24 hour sale on May 1st, grab a Moto X for just $299.99

April 30, 2014

The Moto X was one of our favourite handsets when it first launched last year, and we’re still enamored with it now. If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to get your hands on the Moto X, you will be hard pressed to find a better date than tomorrow, Thursday May 1st.

Motorola will be running a 24 hour promotion on the Moto X, cutting at least $50.00 off the price of the handset. The sale will start tomorrow at 12:01am ET and will end at the following midnight.

The deal is coming directly from Motorola and will not apply to any contract offers, but the sale will cut the price of the 16GB Moto X to $299.99 (regular price $349.99), the 32GB will start at $324.99 (regular price $399.99), and the Developer Edition receives the biggest price cut down to $324.99 (regular price $449.99). The offer still allows you to customize your handset with the full range of case and color options, at the usual extra costs.

If you’re in need of a recap about everything the Moto X has to offer, check out our range of video coverage below.

Remember when this phone cost 640$? :D
    Silly Woodside.

Or you can get a OnePlus one

I mean you can’t for another 3-4 months unless you a) win a lottery to get a chance to smash you’re phone that’s probably worth used as much as the OnePlus or b) hang around their forum 6 hours a day sucking up to just about everyone so maybe some one will send you an invitation to buy it.

I take it maths was not your strong point? Freely available by the end of June is 1.5-2 months, not 3-4.

I’ll believe it when i see it. Even if it goes on regular sale expect it to be sold out in a hour and then wait again.

It’s possible, but you cannot factually state that it will be 3-4 months, only suspect/assume

OnePlus One and Nexus 5 beat this in terms of performance though.
However, in terms of a phone that just works, is pretty snappy, has cool colors, and has a nice screen and cool Google features, it is not really a bad price.

I’ve seen the moto x benchmark over the nexus 5 in a head to head review not long ago.

Yeah, the Moto X is Motorola’s answer to the ridiculous specs war.
The software optimization is so good you won’t see any lag, ever. And I’m not the type of guy who only checks his email and checks in into Facebook.
Plus the smaller screen gives a good enough ppi, and most screen comparisons N5 vs MX I read actually favors the Moto.
Tbh I’d probably think about the 1+1 if I had to buy a phone atm, since it has something like active notifications and touchless controls, but I prefer smaller phones.

        Bottom line: specs aren’t everything.

Canadians aren’t included in this sale, for shame Motorola.
