When I first decided to get a Moto 360, I was a bit torn between whether or not to get the black model or the silver one. While I liked the silver watch better, I felt the black leather strap looked better than the gray one. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any options here, it was choose black leather and black watch or silver watch with gray band. Thankfully, future Moto 360 buyers will have a bit more choice than that, as revealed by a new report from Wired.

Speaking with Motorola, Wired reveals that the Moto 360 is coming to the Moto Maker this March. Obviously we aren’t talking about the same level of customization as the Moto X, so no bamboo casing or colored accents here, instead you will now have the option to choose from three watch casings (black, silver, gold), multiple band choices in two different sizes, and you can select one of 11 special watch faces that will be set as the default from the moment you first take your watch out of the box and turn it on.

This is a great move for the Moto 360 and helps further set it apart from the competition, which is wise considering the new LG Watch Urbane, Pebble Time and Apple Watch will soon be adding to the already fairly aggressive competition in the smartwatch space. Of course you could already buy the 360, switch out a band, get a special 3rd party watch face and have a “customized” experience, but there’s something magical about being able to get this level of customization right out of the box.

Currently there’s no details on exactly what day in March we can expect the Moto 360 Moto Maker option to go live, or what pricing we can expect. We’ll be sure to update you as soon as we learn more.
