We heard the heat during the summer months in Australia can get pretty intense. For Android enthusiasts, the temperature is about to rise some more with the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi-2 in the continent – albeit unofficially.

The Xiaomi Mi-2 is now up for grabs unlocked from MobiCity for $449. For the time being, only the white variant of the phone is available, and it should ship in 5-7 days.

Aside from shipping with MIUI, a popular custom ROM that is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Mi-2 phone comes with a rather impressive list of specs. It has a 4.3-inch IPS display with 720 x 1,280 pixels and 342 ppi, a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage.

Other specs of the phone include an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, and a removable 2,000mAh battery.

If you don’t mind spending the extra bucks to become an early adopter, you can head to MobiCity’s website to fulfill your Xiaomi dream. As for folks in other countries, we heard that Xiaomi is planning to bring its portfolio of phones to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore soon.
