Meizu is about to release yet another iPhone-like-ish Android handset, the MX2, which has its own special media event set for November 27. And it looks like the Chinese Android handset maker is not afraid to show some MX2 skin with less than two weeks to go until the announcement.

The company sent out invites to Chinese media that look like MX2 boxes. Inside the package there’s a transparent piece of plastic that has Meizu logo on it and the date of the event, purportedly having the same size as the future smartphone.

That’s quite a neat marketing trick, but hold on, there’s more. We also have the first images of the device in action. From the looks of it, the MX2 will come with a larger display and a very thin bezel. Thanks to this edge-to-edge panel, the handset will not increase in size considerably, while being able to offer buyers more screen real estate.

The Meizu MX2 will reportedly feature a 4.4-inch touchscreen display with 1280 x 800 resolution, and may have a new Flyme UI version on top of Android.

We’ll be back with more details about this Meizu MX2 smartphone once they get official. Meanwhile, let us know whether you’d buy one, especially if Meizu were to launch it other markets than China.
