Did this solution actually help somebody in this situation or is it just a “possible” solution?

I’m a total noob at tinkering with firmware outside of the suggested system updates. Could you please provide some manual on how to do it? Will I lose all the data stored on the phone?

I may be wrong, but i believe metal back doesn’t equal premium hardware. When i think of premium it is about gorgeous hi res displays, high end chipsets, UFS memory, new tech camera and so on. I don’t see anything premium in this phone.

You are right, yes. This is why we recommended Xiaomi’s lineup first, but also mentioned to look directly at your carrier’s options if within the US. Some Chinese smartphone manufacturers do sell comparable smartphones with US LTE bands (Huawei, ZTE, etc.), and we feel that it’s fair to point out a lack of support.

That’s true, yes. However, since a large percentage of our readers are from the US, it is our policy to count a lack of US LTE bands as a negative. I totally understand where you’re coming from, but we feel that this is a better approach as those outside of the US can just ignore that point.

Xiaomi isn’t too much better but they have been starting to offer more US LTE bands in phones. I am currently typing this on a Redmi Note 4 on TMO. It only has Band 4 for LTE but in my city 99% of the towers are Band 4 so it’s never an issue. The Mi Note 2, Mi Mix and Redmi Note 3 all have at the very least Band 2 and Band 4 for TMO. Rumors are there will be an international Mi6 when Xiaomi solves it’s supply problems as well.

You shouldn’t have “no US LTE” as a negative. Meizu doesn’t sell, market or advertise any of their phones in the US. They are not meant for US consumers, the majority of Meizu’s sales are in China.

M5. The thing is, I saw some solutions involving Tasker and freezing some services, yet I’ve managed to somehow calm down GPS without that. All I need now is to repeat that…

I’ve played with clearing data, cache, managing permissions, etc.
