Update: Marshmallow will roll out to the T-Mobile HTC One M8 on March 7 as well. Enjoy!

Good news, HTC One M8 owners! If you’re on Verizon, then Android 6.0 Marshmallow is getting pushed out to your device Monday, March 7. According to HTC’s Mo Versi on Twitter, this Over The Air update is slated to begin rolling out just after the weekend, so you might want to set a reminder to check for updates Monday morning. Pretty cool way to start your week off, all considered.

Marshmallow will bring One M8 owners all the joys of Google Now On Tap, which provides search suggestions and additional, contextual information based on the content on your screen at a given time. You’ll also get access to that trove of new Emoji (if you haven’t snagged that Textra upgrade already) and, of course, the granular permissions system that lets you pick and choose which permissions to grant apps as they require them.

Marshmallow’s rollout has been notoriously slow, it’s true, so it’s nice to see it continue to spread. Right now, the vast majority of Android users are still rocking Lollipop or Jellybean, so soon One M8 owners can be as smug as Nexus owners.

What are your thoughts regarding this Marshmallow rollout? Are you a One M8 owner? Let us know what feature or features you’re most excited about in the comments below!

I’ve been on sprint and have been on Marshmallow for quite awhile now. The service sucks but I can’t complain, they’re quick with updates

It’s about time! If it doesn’t knock it out of the park, I’m going to consider moving to Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 or Google Nexus 6P.

Im just curious, why would you even consider a Galaxy? Since the S5, all it’s been is locked bootloaders, phones locked down tighter than a nun by KNOX, giving you basically ZERO freedom to do what you want with “YOUR” phone, how can you enjoy all the liberties of the htc bootloader/device itself and then talk about moving to a crapsung?

I have an M8 on T-Mobile, and I’m jealous of Verizon M8 owners.

I use to be on Windows so I’m used to delays. I still have my lumia 928. Windows 10 mobile is interesting. But man I sure missed the apps. I’d love to see my LG g Vista running marshmallow.

  • My HTC One M8 on Verizon Wireless was bricked this morning taking the 6.0 update. Stuck on red verizon logo at boot.

Me too! I cannot find a single solitary help article on it.
