Back in early October 2009 we covered an interesting story regarding a Fender branded myTouch 3G. Things have now come to fruition with this device and we can expect to see it land on January 20th. A trip to Fender’s website reveals that Eric Clapton is endorsing the phone, and we should find a copy of a number of well known hits such as “Wonderful Tonight,” “Layla,” “My Father’s Eyes” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Heart” already preloaded onto the device.

The device also comes packed with a number of other songs by artists including Avril Lavigne and Wyclef Jean but for those that like a customized looking device, there is more. Enjoy an assortment of Fender ‘shells’, including a Fender case, screen protector and “Rock Dock” (including speakers). The device is marketed at a $179.99 price point on T-Mobile USA when you sign up for the regular 24 month contract.
