With the Galaxy S5 said to be just around the corner, we can not only expect refreshed hardware but quite a bit of new software as well. With that in mind, the first screenshots of a new Samsung app called Life Times have now leaked to the net, thanks to the efforts of SamMobile.
The new Life Times app was reportedly ripped from the firmware of the SM-G900H, which is believed to be an unconfirmed variant of the Galaxy S5. Samsung Life Times appears to be a sort of magazine or diary type of app that takes information from various sources and gathers them in one place. Not only does the app seem to gather notifications from social networks like Facebook and Google+, it also can keep a log of information coming from your camera, music, phone dialer and more.
In short, this is sort of like a cross between Samsung’s My Magazine, Samsung’s Story Album, Google Now, and HTC’s Blinkfeed. What’s unknown is whether this will be added to Samsung’s already massive arsenal of apps or will replace Story Album altogether.
It’s important to keep in mind that this is still an early version of the Life Times app, as evidenced by plenty of spelling errors and other minor issues. What this means is that there are no guarantees the app will show up to the GS5 in the form seen in the screenshots. It is also still unclear how the rumored Samsung-Google pact will affect apps like this in the future.
What do you think of the idea of a “life logging” app that takes your favorite app logs and notifications and pulls them into one place? Interested or not?
