Seeing discounted smartphones with third party retailers such as Amazon Wireless or Wirefly shouldn’t come as much of a surprise at this point. In fact, smartphone pricing is almost always lower with these third parties. But that being said, while we expect lower prices with these retailers — we can still get excited when we see a higher-end smartphone come available for under $100. Well, a penny under a $100 anyway.
The handset is the LG Optimus G and Amazon Wireless currently has it priced at $99.99. The handset is available for Sprint or AT&T, both of which assume a two-year agreement. For those looking for the comparison, both carriers currently have the Optimus G priced at $199.99. In addition, Amazon Wireless also offers free two-day shipping for smartphone purchases.
Finally, as a recap on those specs. The LG Optimus G is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and sporting goodies to include a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display, quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, NFC, a 2100 mAh battery, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and 4G LTE connectivity.

But the AT&T version downgrades the camera to 8MP. Why, AT&T, WHY?
Wrong…more mp doesn’t equal better. Read reviews and you will see that the at&t version might even be the better camera.
There has been a lot of conflicting info on the different models of this phone, but for the record the AT&T variant has 16gb internal storage with a 8mp rear-facing camera as well as a SD card slot (and slightly different styling). The Sprint variant has 32gb internal storage, a 13mp rear-facing camera and no SD card. The rest of the specs are the same on both.
