While we’re waiting for the official release date and pricing information for the LG Optimus G, maybe watching the product movie released to YouTube yesterday will help us pass the time.

The video doesn’t really show us anything we didn’t already know, but it is definitely stylish and well worth watching if you’re a fan of the LG Optimus G. If nothing else, it will leave you wondering exactly what LG means by “Awaken the Giant within.”

While LG still hasn’t said anything regarding the exact release date in the US and Europe, we’re pretty certain that the AT&T version of the Optimus G was certified by the FCC on Wednesday, so all signs point to the phone being released fairly soon. LG has been similarly silent on pricing information, but many expect the phone to be sold for around $200 with a two-year contract.

Were you already planning to pick yourself up an LG Optimus G? If not, did this video convince you otherwise?

this commercial makes the jedis look like noobs! ill get this phone if it includes a 16gb internal storage, unlike nexus 4 ( a fail) which comes with a laughable 8gb internal storage. But if the optimus g has the crappy lg features like their older phones, then screw this, im buying a black gs3

Nexus 4′s 8gb of memory IS JUST A RUMOR

this phone isa fail, the note 2 is running a a9 cpu and it rapes this phone in speed and benchmarks, also my s3 just beats this shit out. nice try LG but you can’t compete with samsung.

I have read your comments and it seems like you’re really a samsung fanboy (no offense in that, it is just so obvious!). Anyway, the new snapdragon quad is fasterthan the exynos is sgs3 and no, this lg isn’t a fail because there aren’t so many people that would buy a phablet and because it’s faster and in some areas better than sgs3,it isn’t a fail. I’m personally not going to buy this because I like sgs3 so much :)

download antutu and look at the scores.

          • MasterMuffin

It’s just a benchmark, it’s like quadrant says that hox is better than sgs3…

              not here…… the s3 gets 5301 the one x gets 4932

            • MasterMuffin

My scores are normally between 4800-5600, so you can’t trust benchmarks so much. And maybe LG has failed harness the powerd of snappy, because it really is lfaster. Can’t wait to see the new exynos that will kick some ass!!

How is it an S3 ripoff, exactly? Sure, it’s a phone too. DEM COPYCATS

        • http://twitter.com/George_av George av

look at then UI….. nufff said.

LG’s and Samsung’s icons have looked the same for like 2 years, so I don’t see how it is copying S3 specifically.

I just don’t trust in LG cell phones :( but I admit they make amazing home appliances!!!

Never saw a person who enjoyed his/her LG phone. My gf has LG and i admire how she puts up with it… I would smash it up a wall by now (things like… she sends me sms and she gets a confirmation that the sms was sent to her mom). If this one worked out, I would applause. They really have some nice features in it.

This could be a very good phone if the hardware actually works. There have always been “more powerful” phones that have better specs, but don’t really work as expected. Overheating, battery life, buttons that don’t work, crappy software… I will always go for a better quality Samsung than for an LG with better specs.

I tried the Galaxy S3 on an upgrade recently, and the the cell signal compared to my old iphone 4 sucked! I couldn’t make or receive calls from my house 90% of the time compared to usually being able make or receive calls with my old iphone 4….But what the S3 did do, was make me realize ios is outdated and for the simple minded individual. Now I MUST find an android phone that has a decent signal at my house, this may be the one.
