LG Optimus G

The LG Optimus G was first officially unveiled back in late August, though many countries have still yet to see the flagship handset. With that in mind, the Optimus G is now set to launch in Australia on March 13th.

Australians interested in the LTE-capable handset will have just one carrier choice, as the Optimus G is coming exclusively to Telstra. While the Optimus G originally shipped to some countries with Android ICS, it is expected to arrive with Android 4.1 out of the box in Australia.

What about the hardware? There has been some variance in the Optimus G hardware (at least in the United States), with some models having a 13MP camera and no microSD, others having microSD expansion and an 8MP camera. There doesn't seem to be official word on what the Telstra version will arrive with, though you can expect the meat to be the same: a  4.7-inch True HD IPS display, a quad-core 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM.

At the moment we have no official word on pricing, though the launch event will likely shed more light on this. What do you think, are you interested in getting the Optimus G or would you rather grab a Nexus 4 instead?
