We are so very close to the launch of the LG G5 flagship and LG is continuing to tease us with a few more last minute details about the handset. Today, the company has announced a partnership with Bang & Olufsen, a well establish top-end audio company, to bring premium audio features to the G5.

More specifically, LG has teamed up with B&O PLAY, the company’s division responsible for developing new types of products. The two companies have been working closely together on the LG G5 to “ensure the best sound experience” for customers.

“By collaborating with B&O PLAY, we believe we can meet and surpass the heightened expectations of consumers seeking the next generation of enhanced audio experiences on their smartphones,” – Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications

Unfortunately though, the press release doesn’t tell us exactly what the two have been cooperating on. Although it does mention that B&O PLAY will be bringing its sound and acoustic performance to the smartphone. We could potentially be looking at an improved speaker set-up as this is one of B&O’s specialities, a line-up of headphone accessories, or possibly the rumored digital audio module that can be plugged into the G5’s novel “Magic Slot”.

They should make a G2 V2 keeping the same dimensions and screen while upping CPU, RAM, camera and battery.

    • Leszek A. Szczepanowski

This is what companies trying to avoid… Maybe they think our hands growing with the screen dimension? +1 for you proposition, and 4000-5000 mAh battery and we have ideal smartphone…

      • AS118

I agree, my hands aren’t getting any bigger and I dislike that every new flagship seems to be 5.5″ or more, and have an unnecessary 1440p screen regardless of their size. I want more battery life, and a reasonable sized phone.

    • Seeker03

I second that! I still have mine along w/the unlocked G3.Saw no reason to get the 4. Hoping the 5 is worth all the hype!

  • Ichibanmugen

Hopefully they’ll be releasing decent external speakers for a change! Can’t wait for the announcements

  • Olle

Bang & Olufsen makes me think of nice but overprized design, not exceptional sound.

    • Andersen

B&O sounds pretty good, I’ve had B&O for 15 years. Nothing can compare, in Denmark it’s known as a very noble brand.
