An LG event invite sent to the press is already starting speculations, as the company hasn’t specified what it plans to unveil on May 1.
Published by Engadget, the invite reveals the event will take place in New York City on May 1. The only thing added to the “Share the Genius” motto is a “Capture the Spotlight in True Brilliance” tag line. The image features a microphone in front of stage lights as its background.
Naturally, speculation will be all over the place regarding the event until it actually takes place and we find out what the “genius” LG is planning to share is. One of the most obvious possible answers would be the LG Optimus G Pro being finally released in the U.S.. Some hints, like the fact that LG has recently shown a black edition of the device, point in that direction. The company has said in that Facebook post that the black edition would be coming very soon.
Another important thing is that May 1 would be close to the previously rumored U.S. release date on AT&T for the handset, May 10.
On the other hand, the microphone and lights could suggest another device coming into the spotlight, but that sounds unlikely, with the company’s flagship smartphone not even available yet. LG would only steal its own spotlight by doing that.
What do you think LG will announce on May 1?
