Lenovo to develop Google Android phone for China Mobile

According to a story on the JLM Pacific Epoch website, a Lenovo Mobile brand general manager was quoted as saying that his company will be producing an Android powered cell phone for China mobile. The device is supposedly slated for release in the February/March 2009 time frame.

The Lenovo manager supposedly made the statement at the P&T/Expo Comm China 2008 event that is taking place at this moment in Beijing.

While known only for its personal computers in much of the west, Lenovo is also known in China for manufacturing cell phone and smartphones.
