There are already a ton of zombie games on Google Play, but developer Hothead Games believes it has created the ultimate undead mobile shooter with the just released Kill Shot Virus. The free-to-play game is now available to download in the Google Play Store.

This is actually the third game in the Kill Shot series from Hothead. The first two entries were “normal” first person shooter games where you took down military targets. However, it looks like the team decided to jump in the eternal zombie shooter trend with its third game in the series.

Hothead says this will be the first Kill Shot game to support ragdoll physics effects for characters. That means when you shoot a zombie, it will react more realistically by tumbling or even flying away from the gun blast. Hothead also says the level of graphics in Kill Shot Virus is higher than previous entries, with dynamically-lit levels and lots of details on the zombies.

Kill Shot Virus itself has over 100 missions as you have to halt the spread of a new pandemic that is turning people into undead killing machines (sound familiar?). Of course, you will get the chance to shoot them with a variety of rifles, machine guns and shotguns, and the zombies themselves will include special versions like Screechers, Jumpers, Exploders, and others.

You can also purchase gear like body armor and other items to protect yourself from getting bitten by the zombies, along with various power ups that can give your character a boost in speed or perhaps some special armor-piercing rounds.

The game also will let you create a faction with other online players to take out the undead masses together, or you can compete against other players. You can also play the game in new Urban Onslaught and Urban Pandemic modes, where you can face off against huge super-zombie bosses in addition to hordes of “regular” undead foes.
